Rotating model other than 90 degrees
I am working on a model that was created from a satellite image for my background. I created my outside walls based on the images of the barns in the JPG. In the top view, the building I am trying to model is at about 45 degrees from horizontal.

I have tried using the Rotate Plugin and the Advanced Edit Plugin, but neither allow me to rotate the entire model by a specific number of degrees.

Is there any way to rotate the model so that my horizontal and vertical lines match up with the X-Y grid?
confused

Re: Rotating model other than 90 degrees
Why don't you draw your building in sync with the background? When it's ready you can change the compass orientation to point the building in the right direction.
Otherwise it might be easier to rotate the background.
A third option might be to rotate the building after it is finished. Export and import the whole lot, then rotate around the x,y axis.

Re: Rotating model other than 90 degrees
Thank you for the suggestions, Hans. Model was drawn in sync with the background, but the barns are oriented at about 45* from North. I tried to change the compass orientation, but it did not move the buildings with respect to the screen.

Maybe I was not clear in my explanation, so I'll try another way.

I would like to rotate the model so that the x & y axis of the model are in sync with the x & y grid on the screen (easier to draw the walls). When I am done, I'll move it back into the correct angle that matches the background.

I tried the Rotate plugin but it only works in 90* increments. I looked at the Advanced Edit, but I don't see where I can rotate the entire model at one time. There will be several hundred "walls" when I'm done - it's a floor plan (maze) for a haunted house. It would be too time consuming to move them one at a time.

Ha ha!!! I found it!!!

I selected my model and then under Edit->Rotate was able to change it to the specific angle I wanted!

Hans, Thank you for your suggestions! Because of them, I realized there WAS a way and I looked again and found it!
