confused   Java
I have been using Sweet Home3D on my laptop (i7 windows8) for app 5 months now I installed the Latest (July 2014) version of Sweet Home3D after my laptop started to freeze up regularly. I open my project, do some minor changes to my floor plan, then it starts freezing up again, or it takes very long to actually respond to what I am doing.

1. My Windows task manager states that "not responding" Java rendering...

2. Should I follow the guidelines as advised in the forums earlier this year or should I follow another route to alleviate the problem?

Please advise, as this is a fantastic software and I would like to finish my first house project and more.

Thank you

Re: Java
How do you run Sweet Home 3D? From its installer or the Java Web Start version?
What versions are indicated in the About dialog?

Re: Java
I am running the latest version (July 2014)
I downloaded this version (40MB) and installed it onto my laptop.
I'm quite sure it is the installer version, but I'm speaking under correction (The web start version is the on-line start-up version?) I am sending these messages from my work desktop, but will give you more details tomorrow.

sorry! I'm not an expert in these, but would like some help.

Thanks

Re: Java
The latest version 4.5 was released in October, not in July. From the size you mention, it must be the installer version, in case it's probably an issue in the driver of your graphics card. Please check if an update is available or not.
