Measuring walls from border rather than middle? Hi, newbie here with two questions. I'm trying to create a floor plan for my existing home. I've found that as I try to go around outside corners, the walls end up much too long because SH3D measures from the middle of the wall rather than its border. Does anyone know how to change this so I can measure from the border? If not, has anyone found any good workarounds for this? Second, is there a way to connect walls together that were created separately? Thanks in advance! |

Re: Measuring walls from border rather than middle? Measuring walls - This has been asked a hundred times in a hundred different ways. There is no perfect solution, so you will need to do a bit of arithmetic to calculate your measures. On the Documentation page download the Plug-in Tutorial and install the AdvancedEdit plug-in. Re: Measuring walls from border rather than middle? You could create rooms instead of walls, then double-click on each room to create walls around it. But if you use this method, as soon as you create more than one room, this might require that you remove walls in double that will appear at the limit of rooms beside an other one, and/or move walls in case you want to adjust their thickness. is there a way to connect walls together that were created separately? If the plug-in mentioned by Hans doesn't feet your needs, you may simply remove the wall and draw it again. Be sure to double-click when you finish the wall to connect it. Note that only one wall end can be connected to another wall end.---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |
