Two textures on one wall I have a living room wall that has stone on the bottom half, and is painted on the upper half. How can I apply two textures to the wall? Can I create two walls, one on top of the other, and apply textures to each? Should I apply the stone texture to the wall, and then create a very thin box, the dimensions of the upper half of the wall, and apply the paint texture to that? Is there a better way to do this? Thanks. |

Re: Two textures on one wall Method 1 - As you suggested: use a thin box for the lower part Method 2 - Insert a level and draw walls for lower and upper level, each with a different texture. (Method 1 may be simpler.) H ---------------------------------------- Hans new website - under constuction hansdirkse.info |

Re: Two textures on one wall Because I had a cutout for a fireplace in the lower part of the wall, I made the whole wall stone, and put in a thin painted box for the upper part. Thanks, again! |

Re: Two textures on one wall Method 3: use a lower wall (instead of a box) next to the higher wall - or just make it slightly thicker if you have stone on both sides. With this approach you need not worry about a new level, and it is easier to match the geometry of two walls than a wall and a box. Method 4: edit your (stone) texture adding the painted area on top, make sure proporsions are right, and import texture setting texture hight = wall height. Method 4 would be my preferred option as you can apply the same texture to many walls at the same time and it is easier to edit the sh3d walls later. ok |
