new computer????
I think I have hit the limit of my computer's capabilities. I am looking at new laptop computers. I do about 6 - 8 hours 3d modeling in shetchup and sh3d a day.

I was told by one computer guy that a regular computer with a non integrated graphics card would be good but the other computer guy said I would need a gaming laptop with Nvidia GTX 870m or the like. There's a big price difference between the two and the gaming comps get hot and I work on a lap-desk sitting in my armchair.

Neither computer tech had done 3d modeling. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: new computer????
I'm not sure that a better graphics card is that much needed, because Sweet Home 3D doesn't use so complicated 3D instructions. But if you compute a lot of photos at quality 3 or 4, I would prefer an i7 to an i5, because its ability to run 8 threads in parallel will make the rendering run twice faster compared to an i5.

Re: new computer????
Yo. I totaly aggree with Emmanuel. Number of cores is the main factor for rendering. If you need good gaming laptop then prefer ATI radeon as your GPU. Because its perfomance speed is too good(not Quality)and less price than Nvidia. Size of RAM memory(both GPU and physical) is an another factor for perfomance. Also I want to tell you that the monitor which have 15" size or more have numeric pad(numpad like common desktop keyboard). shhh
