AdvancedEditing.sh3p - Edit Room Points Menu is blank This is in reference to the plugin: AdvancedEditing.sh3p The "Edit Room Points" menu, when selected, is drawn as a blank box. The buttons and info boxes do not appear unless I move the mouse pointer across this blank menu. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I installed the plugin: AdvancedEditing.sh3p to the plugins folder on my Linux system as per instructions in the User's Guide...followed by a restart of SweetHome3D. Otherwise I enjoy using SweetHome3D's ability to display a three dimensional image of my interior plans. Dean |

Re: AdvancedEditing.sh3p - Edit Room Points Menu is blank Dean, Not sure if this helps... Edit Room Points only works on a room that has been defined before you use the plug-in. You cannot define a room using this plug-in. Also, you have to select the room for the plug-in to become active. There's a tutorial available on the Documentation page. Re: AdvancedEditing.sh3p - Edit Room Points Menu is blank Hans, I forgot to mention that I did have a room defined before using the plugin's menu. I will however, look at the tutorial you mentioned. Dean |

Re: AdvancedEditing.sh3p - Edit Room Points Menu is blank I experience the same behaviour. I'm using Fedora 18 with SH3D 4.3 with the bundled Java version 1.6.0_45 / 64 bit. All I get is a blank window where some items (not all) start to appear after I move the mouse pointer over them. |

Re: AdvancedEditing.sh3p - Edit Room Points Menu is blank Gentleman/ladies, I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 without problems. All plug-ins installed and working. What I did a long time ago was un-install all versions of Java on the computer and install the original Sun/Oracle Java version. After doing that: no problems. Re: AdvancedEditing.sh3p - Edit Room Points Menu is blank It work great on installed and online version of SH3D. In portable version not work correctly. I use alternatively all 3 version (installed, portable and online) for different reasons. One of this is this issue. I run a Debian-sid distribution 64bit. ---------------------------------------- A computer program does what you tell it to do, not what you want it to do. Re: AdvancedEditing.sh3p - Edit Room Points Menu is blank Well I have to sound like a broken record but I still have the problem mentioned in the original thread. However since my last statement I have tried the following: 1.) I removed all versions of Java and installed system wide the version jre1.6.0_45 that is the same as the one released with SweetHome3D 4.3. <result: no success> 2.) While I had No.1 in place, I removed the ATI driver on my system and used the driver that came with X.org. <result: no success> 3.) I added a CLASSPATH environment variable to point to locations of jar files in the lib directory of jre1.6.0_45 <result: no success> 4.) Instead of running SweetHome3D with the plugin on KDE 4.4.3 I tried running them on fvwm2. <result: no success> So I am getting rather frustrated. Here is a sampling of the errors listed as soon as I access the Advanced Editing Plugin: (there was a long list of errors): Exception occurred during event dispatching: java.lang.ClassCastException: de.starrunner.sweethome3d.RoomPointsPreview cannot be cast to javax.swing.JScrollPane at javax.swing.plaf.metal.MetalBorders$ScrollPaneBorder.paintBorder(Unknown Source) some more errors: at javax.swing.RepaintManager.paintDirtyRegions(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.RepaintManager.paintDirtyRegions(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.RepaintManager.prePaintDirtyRegions(Unknown Source) and some more: at de.starrunner.sweethome3d.RoomPointsView.displayView(RoomPointsView.java:295) at de.starrunner.sweethome3d.EditRoomPointsAction.execute(EditRoomPointsAction.java:34) ------------------------------------------------------------------ ...Seems like the plugin is unable to find resources needed to run it. But after trying the above mentioned attempts at a solution, I don't know how to make the plugin "see" those resources. ------------------------------------------------------------- I am using Slackware Linux 13.1 32 bit, 4GB memory, several GB of hard drive space for both program and home directories. An ATI Radeon HD 4870X2 running an AMD Catalyst driver 13.1 I am also using KDE 4.4.3 besides, all the other plugins work just fine. Dean |

Re: AdvancedEditing.sh3p - Edit Room Points Menu is blank Yesterday I did a new install of Ubuntu 14.04 64-bits. I then downloaded the 64-bit installer version of SH3D 4.3. Works like a charm, right out of the box, including all plug-ins. H ---------------------------------------- Hans new website - under constuction hansdirkse.info |

Re: AdvancedEditing.sh3p - Edit Room Points Menu is blank In my case I've installed java version 1.7.0_55 / 64 bit for installed SH3D and online version. This work both. In portable version is Java version 1.6.0_45 / 64 bit. That not work. Is the only difference I observe. Try install java version 1.7.0_55. ---------------------------------------- A computer program does what you tell it to do, not what you want it to do. Re: AdvancedEditing.sh3p - Edit Room Points Menu is blank I downloaded java 1.7.0_55 64 bit and installed it in the SH3D4.3 directory. Renamed the jre.6.0_45 and then renamed jre.1.7.0.55 to jre.6.0_45. It works... It is strange that it would not work with the bundled java though... |
