Transparent Walls for png texture mapping. The ability to create effect using walls similar to cut outs to create quick easy 3d flat objects from images from transparent pngs similar to a multiplane camera or parallax effect. good feature for quick original custom visual mock ups and great feature for artists animators etc. here's links to youtube for examples. Re: Transparent Walls for png texture mapping. And I admit as an artist I just would love having the ability to import graphics in 3d space from drawings and photos. Although as far as layout feature could be used to create custom shaped transparent windows unique open doors frames ect. from photos, without need for finding similar 3d models plus may render load quicker. Allowing Transparent photo objects that rotate to face viewer would allow pictures to be used to represent objects that appear similar from multiple angles such as lamps trees etc from picture or Allowing multiple photos to change based on on basic cardinal directions pictures of object from front back and the sides etc would allow designer to import visual representation of an object that doesn't exist or is hard to find in 3d format. |

Re: Transparent Walls for png texture mapping. Hello Sir, A partial answer: - make a 3D silhouette into Sketchup (see tuto 'Google Sketchup 2D People Part 1' here http://www.sweethome3d.com/support/forum/viewthread_thread,4926 ) - export it as .kmz file - load it into SH3D Transparency and shadows will be ok. You won't have the 'always facing camera' feature. Hope this helps. Phil |
