Freeze plan view when pasting new (large) objects? Hi Folks On rare occasions, it would really help if I could freeze the normal plan window when pasting objects which are larger than the window view. I've tried looking for a way to do this, but failed to see anything when searching the User Guide or the forum posts. Apologies if I've not seen something obvious. Why do I want to do this? When I copy/paste, the new object gets offset a bit. Good to see the new object, bad if you want the x-y alignment to say the same. A second paste does put the new object exactly over the original, but it can be easy to mix up which is which, particularly when the plan view changes so that the point you want to keep the same flicks out of view. Having just managed to delete the correct original and work on the offset one a few times, I thought I'd ask if there's a workaround. An alternative would be a way to (temporarily) switch of the offset when doing a paste. Suggestions welcome. |

Re: Freeze plan view when pasting new (large) objects? Like in many graphic software, pasted objects get an offset for visual feedback purpose. If they were pasted at the same place, you wouldn't see any difference, then wonder if something happen or not. Re: Freeze plan view when pasting new (large) objects? Steve, There may be a workaround. - Create a new level. Make sure it's higher than the object you want to copy-paste. - Insert your objects (or your design) on the lower elvel. - Copy your model from the lower level. - Paste it to the top level. You will notice that it appears at exactly the same spot as in the original level. - Copy paste the model back to the lower level where you want it.
