Total Square footage calculation My wife and I have been using this relatively good tool for the past three months...my wife is far more proficient than I and she has done an admiral job of designing our new home BUT...we can't find a total square foot calculation anywhere This seems like a huge oversight ...are we missing something here? |

Re: Total Square footage calculation You could create a (temporary) room that would cover your whole design, either by drawing point by point, or by double-clicking on an exterior wall to create it automatically. ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Re: Total Square footage calculation thanks…sounds like the program can't automatically calculate a total square foot based on the design parameters… we will try creating a duplicate room…is there a step by step tutorial to accomplish this in the FAQ? |

Re: Total Square footage calculation SH3D uses plugins to expand and enhance its functionality. For your specific needs, there is the Auto Dimensioning plugin , which, among other things, calculates the building’s gross floor area and the roof’s footprint by generating the necessary rooms. The unit of measurement is the one you specify in your general SH3D settings. You'll need to read the thread from the beginning to understand how it works. ---------------------------------------- A computer program does what you tell it to do, not what you want it to do.
