Change patterns and colors in 2D plan
I want to use Sweet Home 3D to draw a plan to submit to the building authority.

Is it possible to change the wall color in the 2D plan?
Additionally I would need to change the window and door-symbols in the 2D plan.

Is it possible to make any changes of patterns, colors and shapes in the 2D plan?

Re: Change patterns and colors in 2D plan
You can change the pattern of each wall with the Pattern in plan drop down list shown in the wall modification dialog, but you can't change its color.

You can't change the window and door symbols, or you could but it would be a lot work. What's the problem with the existing ones?

Re: Change patterns and colors in 2D plan
I want to use the plan for submission to the building authority and there are some legal requirements to consider. Nothing facy, but the window, for instance, needs to be drawn as a double line and not as the sh3d symbol that it currently is. The walls that I want to tear down need to be yellow and new walls red ...

I guess you'll have to use an other software, or you can create your main drawing in Sweet Home 3D, export it at SVG format then change some colors and add missing lines with Inkscape.

Re: Change patterns and colors in 2D plan
Ah yes, familiar problem. My solution was:
- use a solid colour for walls in sh3d preferences,
- screen-grab (Win: Alt-PrtSc) sh3d layout,
- paste and bucket fill correct colour with Paint, Gimp or whatever,
- do touch-up on windows/doors etc

Same concept, but ordinary paint tools may be simpler than a vector based one. And sh3d is still my favourite for doing the actual planning.

Good luck with your application. And wish me the same... :-)

ok

Re: Change patterns and colors in 2D plan
Hello,

I'm sorry but I can't find how to change the pattern of a single wall. I see the dialog box to change it for the NEW ones but not for an existing.

My dialog box to modify a wall is like that :

What is wrong ?? I use the last version on mac

Thks,

Cyrille

There are no new walls or old walls, but simply walls in Sweet Home 3D, and I think you actually use an old version of Sweet Home 3D. Check the version you use in the About dialog box.

Sweet Home 3D allows you to change walls anytime-'old or new'.

As Emmanuel says, try a new version.

Re: Change patterns and colors in 2D plan
Ok I've find the solution. I use the last version of SH3D but to use the functionality you have to select more than one wall to change the pattern. If I select just one I don't have the option. When I select two I have it ... Why is it like this I don't know but this is what I can tell.

Re: Change patterns and colors in 2D plan
It's because you must use a small screen where the height of a full wall dialog box can't fit.
When more than a wall is selected, the dialog box doesn't show the start and end points options, leaving some space to display wall top options.
Hope you can live with it...
