Rendering of gallery examples slow on Linux Hi. To get an overview of how roofs are build and to see what is possible with SH3D I tried the 3D view of some example files like SweetHome3DExample7.sh3d or SweetHome3DExample4.sh3d. But the rendering is so slow that I need to wait around half a minute to get a picture after moving the view point. This is Gentoo linux, Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E6550 @ 2.33GHz, 4G phys, 8G swap, I tried the included JRE as well as some of my system VMs: [1] icedtea-6I also tried -Xmx4096m. Graphics hardware is Intel Corporation 82Q35 Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02)glxinfo says direct rendering: Yes, so what is wrong here? Just too old hardware for that big files? That I need to know before starting to build some house project of similar size. |

Re: Rendering of gallery examples slow on Linux I have a similar system: duo E6750, 4 Gb RAM, Ubuntu 12.04 32-bits, Sun Java. Looking at the same model house, it doesn't move very quickly, but the delay isn't more than maybe 1 second. When I make all the trees invisible, the movement is very smooth. (SH3D doesn't like trees.) If you are using SH3D v4.0 you should use Sun Java; the other Java's may cause problems.
