Want to create an arch modelhey guys, im currently a 3d design student and im building a venue within a arch. my mate just found this program (my jaw dropped at it :O) but i am just wondering if there is a way to create an arch shape with the existing features cant seem to work out a way with the walls currently, or if there is a model that i can install already out there? my exam is next week and i would love to be able to include this within my project. |

Re: Want to create an arch model Conner, 1 - On the 3D models page there's an arch (zip) you can use. 2 - If that isn't what you're looking for, then you can make your own arch. Basically, you make your design in the horizontal plane, then use Export as OBJ and Import as furniture. During importing you can rotate your model 90 degrees, to give it the correct orientation. Re: Want to create an arch model I just downloaded the arch, but found it will not make a hole in a wall, unlike (e.g.) a door-frame. How can I make it cut an opening please? |

Re: Want to create an arch model While importing the arch, check the door/window box. Of course, you could read the User's Guide .... H ---------------------------------------- Hans new website - under constuction hansdirkse.info |

Re: Want to create an arch model I tried now to do these changes, that you suggested, but whenever I load the model it doesn't create a hole in the wall anymore. Is there something I'm missing? |

Re: Want to create an arch model Did you check the door/window box in step 2 of importation? ---------------------------------------- Hans new website - under constuction hansdirkse.info |

Re: Want to create an arch model Thanks! That was what I was overlooking this time. :o Now I tested the model and it works now as OKH indicated. I upload the new version. |

Re: Want to create an arch model Yes, that works. Very nice. If it is a model you will use again, you may also want to consider using the FurnitureLibraryEditor to fix the settings (default size and door/window property). ok PS - and even more door properties can be added if you so wish, see: http://www.sweethome3d.com/support/forum/view...ad,2006_lastpage,yes#8919 |

Re: Want to create an arch model And apparently, our efforts are now about to be rendered totally superfluous thanks to Emmanuel Puybaret's excellent programming :-) See: http://www.sweethome3d.com/support/forum/viewthread_thread,4444 It really is quite amazing how powerful sh3d now is. Congratulations. ok |
