models importing w are missing their "skins" or photos/texture
When I import some COLLADA models into SweetHome3D (latest version) the models import but their "skin" or photo is missing.

This maybe a problem with google sketchup. I download the model from the google 3d warehouse and it downloads it in a zip file packet with the model in .3ds format and the "photo realistic" "skin" it has is seperated into a image file below the model file. How do I put the "skin" back on the model in SweetHome3D?

If you want to see what I am talking about just downloading this model: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/detail...2074388cc&prevstart=0 and then try to import it into SH3D

If you can fix this please let me know

Thank you

Re: models importing w are missing their "skins" or photos/texture
Davis,

Your description of the problem is a bit strange. The model you are linking to is a SKP model, not a ZIP/DAE (=collada) or 3DS model.

There is a known problem with collada models: the orientation of faces (what you call skins). Think of a sheet of paper having two faces. The render engine used by SH3D (=Sunflow) has a problem deciding which face to show.

You can solve this problem by importing your model into Sketchup and then using the function Edit --> Face --> Reverse faces. You then have to use File --> Export --> 3D model to export the file as a DAE model that SH3D can use.
