Objects turn into black in HQ renderI've been working with this program days ago and everything was perfect. But yesterday, when I was in a hurry to finish my work it started to show me completely black some objects in High Quality render option, the lowest quality show me everything fine, textures, shadows, etc. I need and urgent answer, please!! my time is going away!!! Thank you!!! |

Re: Objects turn into black in HQ render Lau, My guess is that it depends on what you were doing while in a hurry... Things go wrong for a reason. If you can't backtrace your steps, you can share your model and I'll have a look at it. Hans ---------------------------------------- Hans new website - under constuction hansdirkse.info |

Re: Objects turn into black in HQ render Thanks for the quick answer. Hi, I was drawing a little house, nothing complicated. Tell me how can I share my model, please. Thanks |

Re: Objects turn into black in HQ render Laura, On my computer, your file renders correctly in every quality setting. When choosing the highest quality, there is an initial delay, while the program calculates what it should render. If your computer is "slow", this may take a minute, maybe more. So, try again, make yourself some coffee or walk the dog, and then look if the rendering is correct... Re: Objects turn into black in HQ render lau1979, seems to be a texture issue to me, transparency or whatsoever. i'm going to tryout your file soon (still downloading.....) greets macfrog |

Re: Objects turn into black in HQ render There are like black pixels covering the textures in those objects, part of the objects some times, I always get this picture. why. |

Re: Objects turn into black in HQ render Laura, I had another, more detailed look at your design, and there's a few remarks I would like to make. 1 - When designing a house with a second floor, you may want to read the manual on that topic. (PDF) It will make life a lot easier. Now there are lamps burried beneath the floors (aplique dormis), boxes to elevate floors, etc. 2 - Make your file smaller: change textures on the balcony railing (barandilla), the windows and doors to a brownish colour. It will reduce file size and make rendering faster. 3 - The texture on the balcony floor renders as black. Maybe you deleted the image file from its directory, or moved it to another place, so SH3D can't find it. More specific: the large black spots are caused by the objects called escalon and deck. Regardless of colour or texture, they are always black. Delete them and use a simple box to simulate the elevated floor. 4 - The small black spots appear especially in the highest quality setting, but I'm not sure (yet) what causes them. Re: Objects turn into black in HQ render Thank you hank! I can't change textures because the client need to have an exact "photo" of his houses to rent. That's why I have a heavy file and can't change it. But ill try that so I can see what happens. Thanks again. |

Re: Objects turn into black in HQ render Laura, If you're in a hurry, try this trick to elevate the floors of some of the rooms: - Draw the room with walls all around it - Give the room a floor - Give the floor a texture - Select the floor and at least one piece of furniture that's on the floor - Use Tools --> Copy as new furniture - Now use Paste to insert the copy - Now give the floor an elevation of 50 cms This is probably the simplest and fastest way to make an elevated floor in your design. Note 1 - You need to have the plugin CopyAsNewFurniture installed. Note 2 - It doesn't work if you only use the floor; you need to select at least one piece of furniture in the selection. Re: Objects turn into black in HQ render Hans, you wrote: > 3 - The texture on the balcony floor renders as black. Maybe you deleted the image file from its directory, or moved it to another place, so SH3D can't find it.< I thought, that should not happen, because the textures are included into the object they belong to and then saved into the sh3d-file? macfrog |

Re: Objects turn into black in HQ render Laura, macfrog, Macfrog, you're right, that isn't possible once the texture is included. Now consider this scenario. Load a SKP model in Sketchup, then export it as a DAE model. The texture images are then saved in a separate directory. Move the model to its model-directory, but forget to move the texture-directory. Now import the DAE model and you end up with a model without a texture but rendered in black (?). My guess is that something like that must have happened. Laura, please read the post I made today about elevated floors. It describes again how you can use a shortcut to make the elevated floors in your design. Hans ---------------------------------------- Hans new website - under constuction hansdirkse.info |

Re: Objects turn into black in HQ render Long time afterwards… While testing on your file a bug correction that fixes issues with unexpected black dots in SunFlow, I discovered that your project contains some 3D models with a zero dimension (height or depth), and this provokes some black surface on the rendering. As from version 3.2 (the version that was released just after the one you used to edit your file), Sweet Home 3D avoids to store 0 values during furniture import, this can't happen anymore. If you still want to fix this issue in your file, you should update your version of Sweet Home 3D, look for furniture with a 0 width, depth or height, delete them and replace them with a newly imported plan or box. ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |
