Cut out Hello First a big thanks for this program, but I have a problem. I need a kind of cut-out-tool to make holes in a wall with angle and without a frame. I need this for my top floor flat, so is there anything I can use? thx |

Re: Cut out Import the invisible box selecting the Door or window option during the 3rd step, and use one or more boxes of this kind to cut any wall or group of walls (it will cut only walls). Re: Cut out Mic, Maybe this invisible hatch will solve your problem? And eh, don't forget to check Door/Window while importing, or it won't insert itself in the wall. Re: Cut out Now it works basically. check Door/Window while importing... was my mistake, thx for the hint Problem is, I need an invisible wall/box or whatever which can make an angle on the top. Same system as normal wall have...sloping wall. Is this possible? |

Re: Cut out Mic, Maybe you can apply a transparent texture to (a part of) the wall? It will show up as black in the design, but will be invisible when you make a photo render. Re: Cut out Mic, I still haven't looked at your files (the download is very slow), but I've seen the pictures. Some time ago I wrote a manual that explains how to make a dormer. You may want to study it, because I think it solves your problem. Hans ---------------------------------------- Hans new website - under constuction hansdirkse.info |

Re: Cut out i used hatch and invisible box in door windows selection when importing but they just dont create a whole on wall?!?! You probably forgot to check the Door or window check box during the 3rd importing step. Only doors or windows can make holes in walls.i did read the how to make a dormer how to make a dormer. i cant see TOOLS section on my sweet home 3D !!!! You probably forgot to install some plugins as mentioned in the introduction. I feel you want to go to fast. I you take your time to read manuals entirely (they are not so long), you'll get many answers by yourself.---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Re: Cut out thank you, i have understood the settings about it, i clicked doors and windows box in 3rd import level, my mistake was that i thought i have to import them to doors and windows category, i misunderstood it i guess... so u say tools are added when i make the plugin, ok i will read more carefully, and then add that tools plug-in when i m ready to .. well that software is just awesome and just what i needed, i m tryna search and get every set ups to create what i imagine, thanks... |

Re: Cut out Hi, Sorry to reopen this! I have imported the invisible box and checked the door/window box, but if I then try to drop a door onto the box it won't snap to it and create a cutout. Am I doing something wrong? |

Re: Cut out Hi Mike, If I disable magnetism I can line up the door, but it doesn't cutout the invisible box like it does on a normal wall. |

Re: Cut out Is there a way of having a transparent wall with a door? I have managed to put in some transparent glass walls, but now I just need to add a door which actually has a cutout. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ec2gvrl4mr89688/KWS_SS.png?dl=0 |

Re: Cut out Not sure i understand correctly, but have you thought to insert the door into a wall with its opacity set to nearly clear, then exporting both the door and the wall? |
