Re: Eco House
Shin Chun,

These are beautiful pictures! Congratulations!! laughing

If you want to show the image from Mediafire in your message, this is how to do it:
- when viewing the picture in Mediafire, do a right-click when the cursor is on the image and select Copy image location (in Firefox, in other browsers the name may be different)
- this copies the address of the image (ending in .jpg)
- go to your message in the SH3D forum and click the Image button
- paste the address from Mediafire in the pop-up window and click OK
- click Preview to check if the picture is correctly inserted in your message

Succes

Re: Eco House
Does anyone have any links to any SH3D objects that can be used in an eco design? I am looking for solar panals, wind turbines etc.

I am a total newbie to SH3D and loving it. Already designed 3 or 4 buildings which are for a Home with a 2 Dance studios and accommodation (dormitories/bathroom/kitchen) for use of up to 30 people. I am hoping to make this a sustainable design, something which I have been interested in for years but never attempted to design anything before.

I am also struggling to figure out how to import .kmz or .dae files after exporting them from sketch up. (downloaded from 3D Warehouse)

Also downloaded some furniture from here in .obj and .mtl format but have no idea how to get SH3D to recognise them.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks :)

Both .dae and .obj files should be recognised directly by SH3D, so importing furniture (or just drag-drop into the plan) should do the trick unless the model is faulty.
..also how to make a donut shaped building?
For a round building, use the arc function (press Ctrl when ending wall segment). However, walls in SH3D are vertically straight.
on how to create an Arc shaped Roof?
There are lots of links on how to create various roofs, some listed in thread 6372. Principle is the same, using arc walls. However for more complex roofs, you may need to use Blender/Sketchup or some other software to get exactly what you want. ok
