Legless Furniture Hi, I am new to Sweethome 3D and 3D design generally, but really impressed by what can be done. I wanted to create my own furniture objects for a house interior, and used Art of Illusion as suggested. Most objects have worked fine, but the Armoir which has sculpted legs renders incorrectly both in normal views and Photo Views. The bottom section where the legs are appear to be a plinth going to the floor. http://www.flickr.com/photos/connomar/5285356585/ I'm not sure how or if I can attach a zip file of the object, but any ideas would be welcome. I've tried removing the material and texture, and proved that lathe objects work ok on their own. Seasons greetings to all. |

Re: Legless Furniture Martin, Although I'm really bad at Art of Illusion, maybe I can help. - You may have grouped the legs; ungroup them, apply the colour/texture again, and save. - Make sure the texture is applied to the correct face: SH3D (or the Sunflow render engine) has a problem deciding which face to use. Models from Sketchup Warehouse exported in DAE format have this problem too. Reversing faces generally solves the problem. Re: Legless Furniture Hi Hans, Many thanks for your speedy reply. I've checked the grouping, but the legs were not grouped. I've tried removing textures and changing textures, but they remain obscured by this weird plinth. Kind Regards, Martin |

Re: Legless Furniture Finally sorted out my error on this, so for anyone else here is the problem. Whilst in Art of Illusion, I told the program to hide something that I had used as a guide. In AOI is renders fine, but when the .obj file exported, the hidden component gets exposed, and in this case covered up the legs I had created. |
