smile   AdancedRenderingMini-1.6.sh3p
Hi all,

Something I was discussing with Emmanuel sparked an idea!

My display resolution is quite low, so it is easy to run out of space.

With that I mind I had the idea of producing a mini interface version of the AdvancedRendering-1.6.sh3p plugin, for people with lower resolutions displays, the size is designed especially so Netbook users can also enjoy the new plugin.

This image shows a size comparison.

The mini interface is using the same font size, which is more user friendly as it helps people who may have vision problems. To keep the interface as small as possible, I abbreviated some of the option labels.

Everything still works the same, but I will wait for Emmanuel's approval before offering it as a download.

Do hope this will be helpful for users!

Re: AdancedRenderingMini-1.6.sh3p
Merci Emmanuel, also for your help with the French translations. smile

Would you like me to add it here, or will you be hosting it on the Sweet Home blog page with the full size Advancedrendering-1.6.sh3p plugin so it is easier for users to find?

I've been thinking, since you have a furniture page, what are your thoughts on adding a plugin page, there are some great plug-ins talked about in the forums, but they can be difficult to find once a post becomes old.

I guess they will most likely be in the 'List Attachments' section, although if they had their own page, a nice description and maybe a small image of the interface would be helpful?

Interested to hear your thoughts.
Thank you! smile

Just my 2cents, and you can tell me to keep my nose short, but since you have a developer and plug-in forum, you could make a thread with all the plug-ins, and sticky it to the top so that it is always visible. That way no extra page to make.

Re: AdancedRenderingMini-1.6.sh3p
please view my small trial render, and you'll see a white spots around the image

is that normal or there's something wrong with the plugin

Re: AdancedRenderingMini-1.6.sh3p
Hi fhoofman,

The same thing will happen with both the full size version and the mini version (only the interface has been changed)

For now, one way to overcome the white spots or speckles is to add a Sky texture: to your scene (any will do!) then make sure you click the 'Add sunlight' ('Sunlight' on the mini version) to make sure your render doesn't look too dark.

Because of how things are setup within the plugin, adding a sky texture, should also provide a slightly faster render.

I guess the uber shader (Silk setting) requires further tweaking, I think I know what's causing the problem.

Thank you for your feedback!

Re: AdancedRenderingMini-1.6.sh3p
I think at least the option to select "silk" or "glossy" shader for HQ renders should return to the photo creation tool, so you can select the one more suitable for the scene without modify the .ini file each time you want to test.

Re: AdancedRenderingMini-1.6.sh3p
By default,
glossy = quality level 3
silk = quality level 4

Re: AdancedRenderingMini-1.6.sh3p
Yes, I know, but that is not the only difference between Q3 and Q4, is it?

If it's the only difference then you only need to choose Q3 or Q4, bit if there are more differences then it would be good to have the choice to select "glossy" or "silk" independently for both Q3 and Q4.

Re: AdancedRenderingMini-1.6.sh3p
Here I show 3 renders of the same scene.

This one is Q4 default (that's silk):

This one is Q4 with glossy (instead silk):

And this one is Q3 default (that's glossy):

As can be seen, in the Q4 glossy version the annoyng bright dots of Q4/default are gone, but you cannot just switch to Q3 to get glossy, as there is a big difference between Q3 and Q4 glossy renders as you can see.

By the way the second picture suffers from the "black squares" problem, but as long as there are not many of them they can be easily fixed editing the final rendered image.

Re: AdancedRenderingMini-1.6.sh3p
The differences between the two quality levels are all defined in the PhotoRenderer.properties file, where you'll see that anti aliasing min and max are different for the two quality levels.
