desktop version won't modify furniture from dialogue box compounding multiplier/paste special problems every time I change a measurement and click OK in the modify furniture dialogue box, running free desktop version on a mac, the program keeps jumping to the buy pro version screen and does not make the change. i can't believe just changing size or location center of furniture object is a pro feature. tried a couple reset hints that AI dug up but that seems like a dead end to me. this is made worse because I was using walls which I can modify fine in the desktop version from the dialogue box; but walls do not respond predictably to the Multiplier plugin which I believe is @dorin 's helpful plugin (replacing/updating the pastespecialdistribute plugin). So i downloaded the Copyasnewfurniture plugin to create a furniture object out of the wall that I could repeat paste predictably but when I chose Tool>Copy As New Furniture, pasting the resulting furniture object observes width and length and location precisely as that of the copied wall; but arbitrarily changes the height, i.e., z dimension of the new object made from a wall with 11 1/4" height is 16 1/4"!!!??? (you might guess from the measurement that the "wall" is actually representiative of a piece of 2x12 framing lumber. i'm trying to draw a framing plan and I need to distribute multiples on 16" center. no idea where it gets that new higher z-dimension from. it is not the height of the level, it is not my default wall height, maybe it is some default object height? so I have to be able to modify furniture to get the object back to the right height before i repeat paste it but the desktop version that runs these two plugs in locks into a loop of offering me the buy screen when i try to do that. so far the only workaround I have found is create the new furniture object in the desktop version because plugins don't run on the web version. save the file. open in the web version which can modify furniture and then save the file. and then open it again in the desktop version to multiply. still a little easier than going to the drafting table and drawing a plan by hand but pretty absurd. great if anybody knows a way around this. thanks, brian And I was trying to tag Dorin by way of recognition of his contribution with the plugins but this forum doesn't seem to recognize tags or I don't know the right way to do it. |

Re: desktop version won't modify furniture from dialogue box compounding multiplier/paste special problems Download the last opensource version here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/sweethome3d/files/SweetHome3D/SweetHome3D-7.5/ That should work without nagging screens. ---------------------------------------- Dodecagon.nl 1300+ 3D models, manuals, and projects |

Re: desktop version won't modify furniture from dialogue box compounding multiplier/paste special problems @keet so i checked the version i'm running and it says 7.6.5 from the mac app store and the sweethome for mac in the latest link you posted says 7.5 so i'm thinking i'm actually a version ahead of that? but maybe the version count in the mac app store is different? or maybe it is new beta and these kinks aren't worked out . . . ? brian |

Re: desktop version won't modify furniture from dialogue box compounding multiplier/paste special problems Not exactly. The 7.5 version is the last version as created by Emmanuel Puybaret before it was sold to spacemushrooms. That seems to be the last version that works properly on all systems. Spacemushrooms did 'enhance' the UI and maybe did a few other things (I don't know) but reading this forum there are several problems that keep cropping up. So for now the best solution is to ignore the app store versions and install the open source version. Functionally you will have the same but you will have to import a few furniture libraries to get more furniture. ---------------------------------------- Dodecagon.nl 1300+ 3D models, manuals, and projects |
