something odd with 3D view I’m having a strange issue with the 3D view in Sweet Home 3D and I can’t figure out what is causing it. I created a very simple model from scratch: One level only. Level elevation: 0 cm. Level height: 250 cm. A rectangular room created with four walls. Wall height: 250 cm. A room created inside the walls, with a floor texture applied. Wall textures applied on the inside. However, in the 3D view, the lower part of the walls is not visible. Instead, I see the ground from the outside environment (the green terrain), as if the walls were not reaching the floor. This happens even though: The room floor is at elevation 0 cm. The walls have a height of 250 cm. There is only one level in the project. The room is properly detected and displayed in the plan. What I see in the 3D view: The upper part of the walls is displayed correctly with the texture. From approximately eye level downwards, there is a horizontal band where I see the outside ground (green texture). It looks as if the lower part of the walls were missing or transparent. Additional notes: Changing the “sky and ground” texture in the 3D view changes the color of that band, which suggests I am actually seeing the outside environment through that area. The issue appears even in a new, empty project with just one room and four walls. It is not related to wall inclination or custom elevations. It happens both with high and low camera elevation. I’m attaching two screenshots: With camera elevation around 100 cm, where the issue is clearly visible. With the camera at minimum elevation, where the problem is less noticeable but still present. Has anyone experienced something similar, or is there a setting that could cause the walls not to connect visually to the floor in the 3D view? Re: something odd with 3D view Hi everyone, Thank you all so much for your replies and suggestions! I just wanted to let you know that I finally managed to get it working. For anyone else who might run into this "3D Error" in the future, here is exactly what fixed it for me: I uninstalled my current version, installed the 32-bit version of Sweet Home 3D instead, and then added the SweetHome3D.l4j.ini file into the program's installation folder. That combination worked like a charm, and the program opens without any errors now. Thanks again for your time and help! |

I’ve seen similar behavior in **Sweet Home 3D** when the camera is partially intersecting the floor or when the 3D view has a near clipping plane set in a way that cuts off the lower part of walls. Try slightly adjusting the camera height or switching between the aerial and virtual visit views to see if it changes. Also check if “Display all levels” or wall transparency settings are affecting it. If it still happens in a clean project, it might be worth updating your graphics drivers or the app version, since rendering glitches like that can sometimes come from GPU issues. |
