how can I position a box When creatinga box I can position it at say x=0 and y=0 with size 60x60x60. but then the GUI changes and location suyddelnly is wrong and it seems to be the locatgion of the very middle of the box, this means once something is positioned it can never be verified to be in the correct place without doing a bunch of math. Is ther eany way to say to sh3d that I want a box positioned for ever like it is originally when created? |

Re: how can I position a box It's not clear what the problem is. Any object holds its position until you move it, it doesn't magically move by itself. Explain better what you see happening. ---------------------------------------- Dodecagon.nl 1300+ 3D models, manuals, and projects |

Re: how can I position a box I guess you feel the box moving because the camera is following the box wherever you place it. This is always the case if you have the "camera centered on selection" enabled in the settings and you have the box selected, but will also happen if the box is the only object in the scene, because the program will center the camera on the midpoint of all objects in the scene. You could: A) add 4 boxes on the corners of your work area, so that the midpoint won't be affected by any object in the middle, and disable the camera centered on selection option. B) add a single box to a reference point, and select it whenever you want a certain perspective (with the option enabled). C) use Pan3dView plug in to move the camera freely. |
