Regression: Modify furniture does not open for existing furniture in ≥7.5 (works in 7.4)
Summary

After upgrading Sweet Home 3D via the Microsoft Store, the Modify furniture dialog no longer opens for furniture items that already existed in my plan. Newly added furniture works correctly. The same plan works perfectly in Sweet Home 3D 7.4, so this appears to be a regression introduced in later versions.

Environment

* Operating system: Windows 11
* Installation method: Microsoft Store (auto-updated)
* Broken versions: ≥ 7.5 (exact current Store version unknown due to auto-update)
* Working version: 7.4 (portable / standalone)

Plan details

* Plan header: <home version="7400">
* The plan was created and last actively edited throughout 2025.
* Uses standard furniture libraries (Scopia / BlendSwap / etc.).
* Plan opens without errors in all versions.

Steps to reproduce

* Open a plan saved with home version="7400" in Sweet Home 3D ≥ 7.5
* Select a furniture item that existed before the upgrade
* Choose Furniture → Modify furniture (or double-click the item)
* Nothing happens
* No dialog appears
* No error message is shown

* Add a new furniture item from the catalog
* Try Modify furniture on the new item
* The dialog opens and works normally

Expected behavior

The Modify furniture dialog should open for all furniture items, including those created in earlier versions.

Actual behavior

* Legacy furniture objects cannot be modified
* Newly added furniture objects work correctly
* Walls / rooms / other dialogs continue to work

Additional observations

* The same plan works correctly in Sweet Home 3D 7.4
* The issue is therefore not caused by missing libraries or plan corruption
* Re-importing furniture libraries does not resolve the issue
* Editing Home.xml does not help
* This strongly suggests a regression in how legacy furniture objects are handled in versions ≥ 7.5

Impact

This prevents editing of existing projects after an auto-update, particularly for users of the Microsoft Store version where updates cannot be deferred.

Workaround

* Open and edit the plan in Sweet Home 3D 7.4
* Avoid opening the plan in newer versions

Notes

I’m happy to provide the plan file privately if needed for debugging.

Thank you for your work on Sweet Home 3D — this report is provided in the hope it helps identify and fix the regression.

Yes, I am. However I had some help from ChatGPT (which I was already using to troubleshoot the issue).

Thanks for the extremely quick response. I assume it takes a little while for the latest version to become available in Windows store, as it is still showing the latest was on 4th January (which is the version I had the issues on).
