My small (very small) contribution of 3D objects.
Hello everybody!

I'm sharing a compilation of objects I've made trough time. Most of them are traditional objects useful (I think) for artistic scenarios. Old School objects I never found in databases online, or found it but weren't for free, etc. So I made them by myself.
Most of these objects are/were typical in South America lifestyle and specially in 80s.

OBJECTS:
Cafeteria counter or display case
Park lamp
Office chair
Mock coffee maker or mixer
Plastic trash can
Lockers
Busy broom
Concrete sink with water connection, full basin, plastic cup, side table with bar soap and liquid product in a container
Wall-mounted hand dryer
40lb propane tank (due to the regulator ratio)
Patio mushroom (to put a light inside)
Pot
Small pot
Fictitious sound amplifier
Plastic pitcher
Oven gloves
Blender
Speaker
Bottled liquid product
Two-burner propane gas stove
Monophonic cassette recorder/radio
Cutlery tree
Hot chocolate milkshake
Wind-up alarm clock
Fictitious revolver
Notebook
Dessert plate and cup
Wall clock
Glass with three colored pencils
Fictitious typewriter
Bucket or pail for water
Blanket or folded blanket
simple Gothic column
crucifix

The file is a SH3D file that contain the objects. It looks like a yard sale! And most important, EVERYTHING IS FOR FREE!

Notes:
Park lamp was the very first 3D model I achieved, if it looks too simple, it is because I was learning CAD from absolute 0. The most recent model is the revolver. All in the middle are IMO acceptable quality models. Anyway, leave your comment.

Here is the file:

Re: My small (very small) contribution of 3D objects.
I almost forgot the piano.

I repeat: I made these models because:
-Online DBs didn't have it
-They weren't for free
or
-They were available and for free, but in a format I can't do anything with (in SH3D).

I know it must be not 100% perfect, specially from musicians' view. But newbies in SH3D and 3D modeling in general might fin it useful.

I've just made this single candle with its candlestick.

Here it is, free for all of you:
Dropbox

To get the effect of the light, just place an incandescent light, with 8% power, inside the flame, that is 75% transparent.

=========
I want, If admins don't mind, to suggest the software I use to make my models, for two strong reasons:
* It is AMAZING
* I've ever seen nobody mentioning it. Everybody speak about Blender, and it is fine. I don't hesitate, Blender is amazing, too.

But allow me to mention

Freecad

I've been using it from its version 0.7. Please, I don't want to start a sandstorm with this comment, Is just my humble opinion:
Blender is great for artists, those who have artistic skills love blender. But if your mind is not so artistic, but instead it is mathematical, and love making models, you'll love FreeCAD.
And, obviously, must exist those who are both artist and math skilled. My respect to them.

Newbies in modeling: I strongly recommend FreeCAD.

Please don't try to destroy this perception, it is just my view.

These public telephones are still present all over my city. A nostalgic work for better times:

Re: My small (very small) contribution of 3D objects.
I'm proud to introduce this baluster with independent top, useful to place balusters in stairs.

Useful exactly for that shown in the image. If you have a veranda attached to a different level storey, and you want the same baluster in both places.

You only have to use the marvelous multiplier tool to place the headless balusters in the stairs. Then, create a straight line of only the tops of the balusters (invisible bodies), also with the multiplier. Use the "Copy as new furniture" tool and paste the new furniture. This will be the handrail or banister. Rotate it and place it.

I hope you find it useful.

I took a lot of fun making it.

Here it is.

Great job :).
Do you have birds too ?

Re: My small (very small) contribution of 3D objects.
Hello

For single signs, the best idea is to create a frame (with a box) and use the texture sign upon it.

See the digital display of the fictitious audio amplifier here, it is an example of that.

If you want a carved 3D sign, probably you have to design it in Blender or Freecad.

But a texture is enough, IMO.

Have a great day.

Re: My small (very small) contribution of 3D objects.
Right now I'm exploring parametric modeling (based on geometry).

I'm not the guy (right now).

Anyway, I'm pretty sure you'll find a lot of users that can model a bird in a blink.

Re: My small (very small) contribution of 3D objects.

You will find very few birds because they are very difficult to create and the objects will be huge in size/face count. But there is an alternative: photo-on-a-box.
Read this thread to see how it is done. This post takes it even further smile
Our valued member GaudiGalopin3324 has done amazing things using this method. His posts are well worth reading but be warned: most are very advanced topics. It does show how far you can go with SweetHme3D!

Re: My small (very small) contribution of 3D objects.
Oops, there's a slight misunderstanding in my message.
I was referring to the bird in your avatar. I'm not trying to integrate birds into my Sweet Home 3D project. I'm learning how to use the software to model my land and the aviaries that will be built to physically house my birds.

Re: My small (very small) contribution of 3D objects.
My apologies. I am brand new to this and quite lost. I don't even know how to post a subject here. I have spent hours just looking for bifold doors but every file type I download doesn't work. I do find it odd that standard bifold doors are not in the doors and windows category. Appreciate any help for the newbie.

Re: My small (very small) contribution of 3D objects.
At the top right there is a button "New thread" that allows you to start a new thread, for example to ask a new question.

There are not that many bifold doors but I have a manual how you can create them. See manuals on dodecagon.nl.
This might be a little difficult for a new user but it does give you a bifold door that you can open.

Re: My small (very small) contribution of 3D objects.
Thank you for the info on folding doors. If you don't mind I can't get any answers to my posts on the Cabinet Maker plugin. I spent an hour designing a base cabinet as a model for my entire kitchen but when I finished and clicked on "Okay" I got nothing! I can't find any support for the plugin.

Try this thread for info about the Cabinet Maker. That is also where you can ask the developer of the plugin questions.

Re: My small (very small) contribution of 3D objects.
Hello everyone

I've just finished this house

Whose major challenge was:

The slightly curved roof slopes, which is absolutely characteristic of storybook and fantasy houses. Without it, house wouldn't look fantasy and story-booky, but a normal tudor-style house.

I share with newbies (experts may not appreciate it) the objects I created to make this model:

You will find how versatile "trim arc (2 parts)" and "half-timbering (atom)" are if you use the different model parts to make one of them invisible, and the multiplier and "copy as new furniture" tools.
I always wanted to model a tudor-style house with all its fancy timbering.
Finally I created a versatile object to share w/u.

The pieces were created with Freecad. The whole 1-piece roof was difficult, but I finally achieved it.

I hope your comments.

Enjoy the home:

*Improve your textures by turning them into seamless textures. This means, copy a left-right mirror of it beside it, and a bottom-up mirror image of it below. You'll get a seamless texture wich will look too better in SH3D. In my "Storybook-style house", the 1st storey walls used this technique, as the floor of the garden and all the rooms. You'll see they look seamless (is not visible where one picture ends and starts the other).

*To build more realistic chimneys: Build the narrow walls of the chimney and export it as obj file, then import it again as "staircase". This will make the chimney open a hole in the rooms. This way, smoke will properly escape. LOL. I made it in this house.

๐—”๐—ป๐˜๐—ผ๐—น๐—ผ๐—ด๐˜†

I copied this house from a picture after looking for "fantasy house." When I almost finished, I realized the 3rd storey wasn't accessible. No possible stairs to be inserted to arrive there. So the solution was to elevate the roof 1.22m; but the dormer stood not accesible. So, I placed there a box for a character to be able to use the dormer. LOL. It could be used as an elevated bed. Anyway.

Thank you for viewing and commenting.

I've just realized Dropbox won't allow anymore the download of shared files (at least for free). f*ck!
I will make an account anywhere else to share the objects w/u. I apologize, but this will take some time and I don't want to lose this post. I'll share a link, I promise.

PD: My old posts had images from imgbox but this website is down, so images don't appear.

Urinal, ramp, long span girder and ramp.

In the first image you can see a guy in the bathroom. Nevertheless, the important thing are the urinals, the long span girders and the wide pan tile. I am sharing them for you today in the link provided.
The second image is a ramp, with two 'steps' of slope at 10ยบ and 1 rest, an all his railings individual, in case you want to make them invisible and repalce them with a wall or something else. Urinal is modeled with 2 tubes side by side, but you can make invisible 1 of them in the extreme urial of a line, as it is in the picture.
The long span girder is the atom part (the minimal fraction), but you can easily mulptiply it with the multiply tool.

This building is a big saloon for parties.

I like to make and share models because:
1. I love SH3D
2. Free models are each time less 'free'. Webpages that are supposed to share free 3D models are losing its quid, they are flooded of advertising or bills you in the deep end of a rabithole of clicks. I still believe in a collaborative and free creative work in Internet.

Don't forget to tell me anything.

Re: My small (very small) contribution of 3D objects.
I'm going to re-upload all models to mega, because dropbox made unavailable the compressed file sharing. Unless you give them money, of course, but I wont. Please be patient.

Re: My small (very small) contribution of 3D objects.
Old uploads are still available to download. It appears like this:

The small down-arrow in the top-right corner will allow you to download. But, from certain day, downloads require payment from the uploader's part. So, dropbox is still useful for uploads made before such deadline. I hope they don't change it.
