Re: Remove Account Hello Please add details, in order other users can help you. In this forum take part users that really take the time and effort to help. What account do you want to close? In case you mean this forum, it is totally free. The software SH3D, as far as I know, is free as well. Please add details to find out if something irregular is happening. Have a nice day. |

Re: Remove Account Hi, I was forced to make a fresh reinstall of main main PC, and of course had to reinstall SH3D, after the installation got a "full screen" pop-up asking to take a "monthly of yearly plan", of course I didn't, the screen can be closed in the top-right corner [x]. I'm interested to know what do we get on that kind of "plans", I don't get it. Anyway... ---------------------------------------- Dubito, ergo sum Mobo: ASUS TUF GAMING Z690-PLUS CPU: Core i9-12900K RAM: 32 GB DDR4 3200 Ghz GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER 6G OS: Win 11 Pro 3D: SH3D 6.6.1 and Blender |

Re: Remove Account I think you need to cancel any subscription on your Microsoft account. I also fell for this 'scam', because it's hard to call it anything else. Seeing that new versions of Sweet Home are being developed there, it seems like the free version is gone now. Is that how we should understand it? |

Re: Remove Account Hi, SH3D Pro? Really? In the FAQ section: Is Sweet Home 3D free? Thanks to the services provided by sourceforge.net and Space Mushrooms, you can use Sweet Home 3D free of charge, for personal or commercial purpose, under the terms of the GNU General Public License, whereas you use its installer version or the Online version. Nevertheless, if you want to reward financially Sweet Home 3D project, you can donate the amount of your choice. You can also buy and download Sweet Home 3D on the Microsoft Store for Windows, on the Mac App Store for macOS, on Google Play for Android and on Apple’s App Store for iOS. I don't get why no one is referring to it this in this forum... What's the difference between free and "Pro" version, the look? BTW you still can download the free version from SourceForge site ---------------------------------------- Dubito, ergo sum Mobo: ASUS TUF GAMING Z690-PLUS CPU: Core i9-12900K RAM: 32 GB DDR4 3200 Ghz GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER 6G OS: Win 11 Pro 3D: SH3D 6.6.1 and Blender |

Re: Remove Account @KelvinUceta See https://www.sweethome3d.com/support/forum/viewthread_thread,14202_offset,0 I certainly raised what appears to be a move to monetize SH3D in that thread. As far as I'm aware it is mostly an updated UI on the Win/Mac desktop, along with bundling of of existing model sets with the app (i.e. convenience). There may be some additional models. The major "improvement" seems to be the iPad/iOS version. To me that would be a horrible user experience, but to each their own I guess. They (SM) haven't really actually "announced" or "released" anything the open source way, so it is not obvious what has changed, and whether any of these changes will make their way into the original free application. I suspect nothing. Expect any future SH3D to be closed source and focusing on subscriptions. At least with Apple the subscription costs are detailed on the app store page. Frankly, I think they are nutty - a perpetual Mac desktop purchase is £180! With Microsoft, the costs don't seem to be detailed on the store page - just "In-App Purchases". So I guess you have to install the paid version first to discover what they cost?!? I don't know as I don't use/login to Microsoft's page. Because of the natural disposition of Linux users and the difficulty of monetizing them, we should probably expect to be left out in the cold completely. The truth is, I used SH3D for testing layouts while planning a single personal project. I don't use SH3D for fun. I also ran into limitations, and graduated to using Bonsai on Blender. Massive learning curve, but gave me things I couldn't easily get with SH3D, like professional looking floor plans and sections. It is probably too hard for casual users to get into, so I don't expect many here would find it of interest. Unlike SH3D, no single person owns the code-base. Because many different people have contributed to Bonsai under GPL, it is and always will be open source because every single contributor must give consent to use another license, or their contributions must be removed and re-written with a clean room implementation. Even if someone tried a hostile conversion to closed source, it's on Github, so it's trivial to fork. |
