Re: Ugly looking interface problem HELP NEEDED! Thanks to you, sjb007 and keet, I learned enough to solve the problem. I installed KDE desktop. I had no idea what a desktop was in Ubuntu world. And, as you said, it improved all programs looking. SH3D looks again pretty and fancy enough to my eyes, and the open/save dialog is no more D.O.S.-like, but graphic and friendly. The last time, I was just very tired. See ya! |

Re: Ugly looking interface problem HELP NEEDED! It's kind of funny you like that look. That is known as the Metal look and feel, and is one of the very old fashioned default looks that come with the Java swing toolkit that doesn't match any desktop. But hey, if you like it, you like it! Who are we to judge? ![]() |

Re: Ugly looking interface problem HELP NEEDED! Yeah, I did see screenshots in which SH3D looks like a spaceship! But, for me, to have overcome the old file picker is enough by now. And seriously, the first screenshot UI is the ugliest. It makes this last one... at least has colors. Maybe later I'll ask you for help to improve even more the SH3D UI here. Right now, Ii'm like this: Homer . |

Re: Ugly looking interface problem HELP NEEDED! Can you give an example? What did you see and where? We could probably help you achieve the same thing, or at least explain what you saw. For example, I use Nimbus LookAndFeel(LaF). With good and bad. What colors does it have? ---------------------------------------- A computer program does what you tell it to do, not what you want it to do. Murphy's Law When all else fails, read the instructions.
