Error when saving a project based on a demo project
I want to base my design on an existing sample project. So I do File -> New from demo -> 4-Bedroom house

Then I try to save it but keep getting an error:

I'm able to save a completely empty project though.

Also, the same error happens if I copy everything from the 4-Bedroom house and paste into my empty project and try saving it.

By trial and error, I found that window is at least one problematic element. I can copy over walls and save, but as soon as I paste any window, I get that error. I seem to be able to add new windows from the tools though. It's sad that I cannot use the existing project and have to redraw it from scratch.

This is strange...

Re: Error when saving a project based on a demo project
I had no problem starting a new project from that demo and saving it.

What is your system (OS, version) and how did you install Sweet Home 3D? (from download, from app store, what version?)

Re: Error when saving a project based on a demo project
It was with the Microsoft Store app. I now uninstalled it, so not sure which version it was, but it was the latest one, whatever was available a few days ago.

Seems that my image link was not preserved in the post. The error text was:
"Cannot save home in <path to the file>" java.lang.NullPointerException

I now downloaded the completely free version 7.5 (which has quite older looks) and that one could save the demo project just fine. So it could be some compatibility quirk between versions and demo projects, I guess.
