Menu fonts way too small Hi! I file a bug on sourceforge 2 days ago but not sure how much this is followed. So here is my problem: - Using Fedora 43 GNOME - SweetHome 3D version 7.5 - Tried the various tips (2) I found creating a SweetHome3D.l4j.ini file but nothing made any change to the UI. The menu is so small I cannot read it. Here is a screenshot. Does anyone have any more advice? Thank you. Fred |

Re: Menu fonts way too small Excerpted from the FAQ ---8<--- Texts in the furniture catalog are not displayed correctly or icons in the toolbar appear very small on my computer. How can I fix that? You probably use a recent computer with a HiDPI or high resolution screen, under Windows or Linux. If you run Sweet Home 3D with Java Web Start, using the HiDPI Java Web Start version should fix this issue. If you use the installer version under Windows, update to version 6.0 which fixes this issue. For older versions, create a text file named SweetHome3D.l4j.ini in the same folder as SweetHome3D.exe, copy/paste the following Java options in that file, and restart Sweet Home 3D (you may also download SweetHome3D.l4j.ini file and move it in SweetHome3D.exe folder): -Dcom.eteks.sweethome3d.resolutionScale=2.5 Under Linux, edit SweetHome3D script and add the previous options before -classpath Java option without line returns. ---8<--- Note the underlined bit. I'm not 100% sure but it may be that Linux must use direct options, and not the .ini file. |

Re: Menu fonts way too small I tested just that first parameter, and on my Ubuntu 22.04 (Gnome 42.something) it works as expected. |

Re: Menu fonts way too small Like I said,I tried that and it doesn't work. Is there any way to modify the 'direct options' then? Thank you. |

Re: Menu fonts way too small @bfred try to run SH3D with different Java versions. Newest isn't always better, try with Java 8, 11 and 15, and be sure to use the latest update in all cases. The very latest versions aren't compatible, so don't go past version 15. You may also try -Dsun.java2d.uiScale=2 If none of these works, you may try to scale the whole application or the screen (including buttons, etc.). See this: https://superuser.com/questions/950794/per-ap...xorg-for-high-dpi-display |

Re: Menu fonts way too small @bfred Are you editing the SweetHome3D script in the application folder? Or are you trying to use a .ini file? Also, did you download from SH3D site, or has it been packaged by Fedora? Package maintainers loathe apps that include their own versions of stuff the app needs. i.e. Fedora may have stripped out the Java included in the SH3D download, replacing it with their common packaged and "blessed" version. This can cause issues. |

Re: Menu fonts way too small I am using an .ini file in the SweetHomne 3D launch folder. Fedora has no package, sO I downloaded the latest version from the website. I'll try playing with the launching script then. Thank you. |
