Updated to Version 7.6.1 Mac App Store and furniture library is broken I just installed the update from the Mac App Store and all furniture in the library is gone... ![]() I dragged the app to the trash and reinstalled, and it is not fixed. How can I fix this? Please let me know if you need more info. |

Re: Updated to Version 7.6.1 Mac App Store and furniture library is broken I wouldn't trust this update. There was no announcement in the blog or forum about any update and I don't think only the Mac version will get an update and not the Windows/Linux versions, It would be a very bad move for Sweet Home 3D. Also read this thread: https://www.sweethome3d.com/support/forum/viewthread_thread,13842#65127 Don't trust email announcements. So far updates have always been on the forum and/or blog and always for all platforms. ---------------------------------------- Dodecagon.nl 1300+ 3D models, manuals, and projects |

Re: Updated to Version 7.6.1 Mac App Store and furniture library is broken OK, thank you. Installing the most recent release from SourceForge fixed the issue, although I lost all imported furniture and textures in the process. Why would a broken version have made it to the Mac App Store? |

Re: Updated to Version 7.6.1 Mac App Store and furniture library is broken I don't know how it got in the app store. I'm strictly using Linux for a very long time now, The only "App Store" I know are the Linux repositories. If you have a backup of the Sweet Home 3D home directory you can restore it to get back the imported furniture and textures. This should not have happened with an official update because those imports should have been left untouched with an update. From the FAQ page: Sweet Home 3D saves also some data in files and folders separated from the program ones, to avoid losing them when you update the software. For your information, here are the places where you can find this data when it exists: • Under Windows Vista / 7 / 8 / 10, imported furniture, textures, plug-ins and user preferences are saved in the C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\eTeks\Sweet Home 3D folder and its subfolders ; user preferences handled with version 2.6 and previous versions are saved in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JavaSoft\Prefs\com\eteks\sweethome3d folder of Windows registry. • Under Windows XP and previous versions of Windows, imported furniture, textures, plug-ins and user preferences are saved in the C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\eTeks\Sweet Home 3D folder and its subfolders ; user preferences handled with version 2.6 and previous versions are saved in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JavaSoft\Prefs\com\eteks\sweethome3d folder of Windows registry. • Under macOS, imported furniture, textures, plug-ins and user preferences are saved in the Library/Application Support/eTeks/Sweet Home 3D subfolder of your user folder ; some user preferences might also be saved in the files com.eteks.sweethome3d.plist and com.eteks.sweethome3d.SweetHome3D.plist found in the Library/Preferences subfolder of your user folder. • Under Linux, imported furniture, textures, plug-ins and user preferences are saved in the .eteks/sweethome3d subfolder of your user folder ; user preferences handled with version 2.6 and previous versions are saved in the.java/.userPrefs/com/eteks/sweethome3d subfolder of your user folder. Besides this "base" directory you can have multiple directories with different versions of the Sweet Home 3D program and run time. That allows you to test a new version without loosing the current version or to test beta versions when they come available. By-the-way, you haven't lost any furniture or textures that are used in your projects. These are all saved in the .sh3d project file. When you open a project everything should still be there as before. ---------------------------------------- Dodecagon.nl 1300+ 3D models, manuals, and projects |

Re: Updated to Version 7.6.1 Mac App Store and furniture library is broken @SpaceMushrooms A suggestion: previously there were announcements and the use of beta versions. This allows experienced users to test new versions before a final version is released AND it allows different users to test on all the different platforms. You will get a lot of useful feedback from these tests if there is something wrong. That's the power of open source! ---------------------------------------- Dodecagon.nl 1300+ 3D models, manuals, and projects |
