Save one or more configurations of visible levels I'm currently working on a project that has 27 levels and this gave me an idea for a plugin that will allow to register levels configuration Basically the idea is : Levels: All levels invisible except those listed as visible in the configuration Furniture: All furniture (in visible levels) are visible except those listed as invisible in the configuration Functions: Register Configuration, Goto Configuration, Delete Configuration If anyone finds the idea interesting and is willing … |

Re: Save one or more configurations of visible levels Maybe I don't understand what you suggest but we can already make levels and furniture visible/invisible. Are you suggesting different saved configurations that allows choosing a configuration instead of making individual levels/funiture visiible and invisble? Might be useful in your situation with 27 levels but I don't think there is much use for most projects with fewer levels. ---------------------------------------- Dodecagon.nl 1300+ 3D models, manuals, and projects |

Re: Save one or more configurations of visible levels Keet you got it, I was suggesting different saved configurations that allows choosing a configuration instead of making individual levels/furniture visible and invisible. I know that most users only have a few levels, but as soon as you have one or more buildings on several floors (70s style) and several dependencies, that you put dimensions on separate levels, that you put all the roofs and frames on a Garden level to be able to hide them quickly, that you use the levels to manage options and/or construction plans ... well you suddenly have lots of levels and you are very often changing to visible/invisible one or more levels and doing the reverse operations. In this case having the possibility of saving some reference configurations and activating them would make the manipulations much more fluid |

Re: Save one or more configurations of visible levels I totally agree and support your idea! Pretty much anything that makes the level management easier would help a lot. I have a project with 50+ levels and clicking on each tab with the mouse and making it visible/hidden just to check a different view is really crazy. At least for me, the lack of proper level visibility management is currently the biggest limitation of SH3D. Option to save/load a number of different views (combinations of hidden and visible tabs) would improve the workflow tremendously. I think even better would be organizing levels in a tree with sub-levels and check-boxes for visibility, instead of tabs, similarly as other software, e.g. Inkscape or Blender. |
