Wall Area Is it possible to view the area of the walls of a room? I would like to calculate the number of wall (and floor) tiles required to cover the walls (floor) of a room. It seems that the only way of doing it is manually outside of the program. |

Re: Wall Area Paul: You are correct: doing the math yourself is the only way. Hans ---------------------------------------- Hans new website - under constuction hansdirkse.info |

Re: Wall Area Thanks, that also solves the other thing I wanted to do which is look at the layout of tiles on each of the walls from different starting points. I can understand why this would be difficult to program but you would have thought that coverage of eg tiles or wallpaper for a room would be fairly simple. Presumably few people want to do it. |

Re: Wall Area Paul: If you're prepared to shell out a few 1000 dollars or euros, I'm sure you can find a program that offers more features when it comes to tiling walls. About six months ago I bought TurboFloorPlan v12 but hardly ever use the program. Whether this (or any other) program is better than (for instance) SH3D depends entirely on what you are trying to do with it. Once you exceed the built-in possibilities of a program, you will have to find workarounds. That goes for TurboFP, for SH3D, and most probable even for AutoCad. Maybe I'll write an addition to the textures tutorial. While writing this post, I'm getting some ideas how you might deal with complex textures. Keep following the posts on the forum :-) Hans ---------------------------------------- Hans new website - under constuction hansdirkse.info |
