Help with external dimensions
Happy New Year to all!
I just found and installed this program; it is great and running under Ubuntu 9.1 64bit flawlessly.
My question is: is there a way to change the default external dimensions? My home with garage attached is a long structure and we are adding a shop addition on the end of this which will make it REAL long (`130ft all told). Is there a way to stretch the default pane to accomodate this sizing? My total dimensions when done with current construction will be about 50 x 126 feet amd I would love to use this program to layout the new shopspace and quest quarters.

Thanks,
Bob

Re: Help with external dimensions
Bob,

I'm not sure I fully understand the question. The grid in SH3D is self-stretching, so if you start at coordinate 0,0 and want to add something at -200,-200 than that is no problem at all. Just drag it there, and you'll see that the grid expands.

If this doesn't clarify your question, please explain again.

Re: Help with external dimensions
Thanks Hans! I didn't appreciate the expanding properties of the grid as it did not do so at first. I found I had to run the cursor beyond the edges and then go back and forth as it would not pull/stretch just by moving the cursor beyond the edges of the window. I'm using the 64bit version on Ubuntu 9.1 with all updates and java updates.
Once I did that it worked like a charm and I've spent the last 4 hours successfully getting the floorplans ginned up.
Thanks guys this is a great program and I'm going to recommend it highly.

Question similarly related. I accidentally self stretched to -80 feet, it froze for a second and then my wall was super long. Is there a way to get the grid back to -10' like I had it before?
