Grey box appears when starting Sweet Home on Vista
I installed SH3D on my wife's laptop, which is an Acer laptop running win Vista. I get a very strange bug which I think is related to her graphics card drivers but I'm not sure:

A grey box appears in the top left of her screen, which can only be removed by selecting refresh by right clicking on her desktop. Whenever she attempts to perform actions in SH3D, the box appears again, obscuring most of the application's toolbar. Mouse overing the icons and other display elements causes them to be redrawn over the box, but once again performing any action causes the box to be drawn over everything else. Resizing the application causes the box to become smaller, but to fully remove the box I had to scale the application window down to something probably close to 96 pixels in size, which makes it somewhat impossible to use the program.

Ideas?

Please try the DirectX solution described in the FAQ, and report here whether it works or not.
