Re: My small (very small) contribution of 3D objects. Hello everyone I've just finished this house Whose major challenge was: The slightly curved roof slopes, which is absolutely characteristic of storybook and fantasy houses. Without it, house wouldn't look fantasy and story-booky, but a normal tudor-style house. I share with newbies (experts may not appreciate it) the objects I created to make this model: ![]() You will find how versatile "trim arc (2 parts)" and "half-timbering (atom)" are if you use the different model parts to make one of them invisible, and the multiplier and "copy as new furniture" tools. I always wanted to model a tudor-style house with all its fancy timbering. Finally I created a versatile object to share w/u. The pieces were created with Freecad. The whole 1-piece roof was difficult, but I finally achieved it. I hope your comments. Enjoy the home: ![]() ![]() ๐๐ฑ๐ฑ๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ถ๐ฝ๐ *Improve your textures by turning them into seamless textures. This means, copy a left-right mirror of it beside it, and a bottom-up mirror image of it below. You'll get a seamless texture wich will look too better in SH3D. In my "Storybook-style house", the 1st storey walls used this technique, as the floor of the garden and all the rooms. You'll see they look seamless (is not visible where one picture ends and starts the other). *To build more realistic chimneys: Build the narrow walls of the chimney and export it as obj file, then import it again as "staircase". This will make the chimney open a hole in the rooms. This way, smoke will properly escape. LOL. I made it in this house. ๐๐ป๐๐ผ๐น๐ผ๐ด๐ I copied this house from a picture after looking for "fantasy house." When I almost finished, I realized the 3rd storey wasn't accessible. No possible stairs to be inserted to arrive there. So the solution was to elevate the roof 1.22m; but the dormer stood not accesible. So, I placed there a box for a character to be able to use the dormer. LOL. It could be used as an elevated bed. Anyway. Thank you for viewing and commenting. ๐น๐ถ๐ป๐ธ I've just realized Dropbox won't allow anymore the download of shared files (at least for free). f*ck! I will make an account anywhere else to share the objects w/u. I apologize, but this will take some time and I don't want to lose this post. I'll share a link, I promise. PD: My old posts had images from imgbox but this website is down, so images don't appear. |
