Re: Null Pointer Exception from Linux Debian version Strange Observations 1- Shortly after trying SH3D and getting the above problem, I ran out of disk space. After investigation (du -hsx /var/log | sort -rh | head -10), I found out that syslog had swelled to 62G. I had to purge syslog to avoid formatting. This has not occurred since. 2- A similar problem occurred before (https://sourceforge.net/p/sweethome3d/bugs/346/) caused by lack of disk space and caused a Null pointer exception. 3- Another case was confirmed using the Pan view plugin and SH3d would not start (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sweethome3d/+bug/1442958). actionparsnip (andrew-woodhead666) said on 2026-01-28: #2 https://www.sweethome3d.com/support/forum/viewthread_thread,5072_offset,10 Some kind of race condition? (I just googled the error you are getting).... 4-./SweetHome3D-Java3D-1_5_2 &> ~/SH3D_jre1.8.0_481.txt does not redirect standard error to the file but to the screen. 5- Retried the original tests from a fresh install with default runtime and then with jre1.8.0_481 and got the same error condition.
