Re: How to add a fixed window above a door? fhoofman: SH3D does not allow to insert an object (partially) above another object. For every object that you insert into a wall, SH3D (internally) starts a new wall segment. If you need to insert two objects above each other, or need objects (partially) overlapping, you will need to use a different solution. I will briefly describe two methods. 1 - Use the method described here. It works in the standard SH3D without the use of plug-ins. 2 - If you use the CopyAsNewFurniturePlugin there is a simpler way. Just as in method 1, you will have to make horizontal slices (floors) of your model. Make all the slices next to each other: draw the largest (bottom?) slice first and include all important features for the other slices (floors) in it to assure that things line up correctly. Then copy the entire first slice and position it next to the first slice. Repeat if you need more slices (floors). Adapt all slices until they are completed. Now, click File --> New and open a new instance of SH3D. Highlight each slice in turn and use Tools --> Copy as new furniture . Switch to the other, empty instance of SH3D and paste the slice you just copied. Repeat for the other slices. Align the slices, adapt their elevation, and READY. Save both files: one for the details, the other one with just your assembled model. Hans ---------------------------------------- Hans new website - under constuction hansdirkse.info |
