Firstly welcome to the forum.
In answer to your question, both yes and no
you see almost all the furniture that is available on the download page (if it is in a multiple furniture package) is already to the correct scale when used in the plan, only separate imported (OBJ, DAE, 3DS plus others) furniture and objects need to be scaled correctly on import.Your point is valid too though. It is mainly a good base wall thickness I thought would be most helpful, especially for new users.
