Re: Revit Files Blender can export in several formats... @hansmex. Yes, Blender is good for exchange models from one format to another, but there are other converters as well. From Blender to SH3D I would recommend using Collada, and then convert it to Wavefront/.obj with SH3D...revit converter is, that most of manufacturers have their products as revit or autocad or autodesk models @brodbdie: I was not aware of Revit specific models that are free to copy. There are discussions online about Revit users being frustrated about not being able to share models (in non-Revit formats) without other users being able to copy them. Which again means that there probably is a way of converting the models you want. Provided, of course, the models are not copyright restricted. Most of library i seen here are very old fashioned furnitures or more US-Goods There is a limited range of models in the standard libraries, but the 3D models page links to both the free SH3D models page and numerous other sources to models you can use. If you look through some of the creations in the forum, you will see how many users rely on models from other sources and models they make themselves. The 3D warehouse (use .dae if you do not want to go via Sketchup) is arguably the most popular, if not the best in terms of quality. And many manufacturers also offer models in SH3D compatible formats (.obj, .dae .3ds). And, not to forget, if you think certain models should be included in the standard libraries, you can try asking in the forum. Many SH3D users have extensive libraries and will share them if they are of interest to other users. ok |
