Some 12 years ago I was looking in that general area (preferably a bit further South on the border to Wallonie, did not want to be biased) for somewhere to live. Rural, sensible commute to town (alternative roads), easy access to Zaventem (but not in runway path)... I could go on. Judging by the looks of it, you have found just the sort of place I could have wanted. Life took me elsewhere, but yes, I am envious
I will not propose a plan, not an architect and certainly no expert, but I know what I would have wanted. A mirrored L shaped building (_|), façade to the road, and afternoon sun in the corner of the _| towards the garden. Gabled roof with solar-thermal using whatever renewable energy Belgian sun can offer. A garage/driveway in to the house on SouthEast corner taking advantage of the high terrain with staircases up to the garden level.
But then, I am only envious. Best of luck.
