Re: Wooden Stairway (180° / U form) By the way, I did put some effort into making the staircases satisfy a sort of generic set of legal requirements in terms of angle, step depth (thread), ratio between thread and rise, nosing etc. Also, I checked whether staircase with similar dimensions were available as standard models. That said, every legislator seems to have an opinion on building elements (and especially staircases), which means that the dimensions may not be according to local legal requirements. Or building code may allow more hazardous approaches (e.g. in the UK steeper staircases are allowed in private homes, that would be in other European countries). ok |
