Re: SweetHome3D and .dae files from Google Sketchup : scaling problems Al, Carefully read the User Guide on Importing 3D models. Although I'm not familiar with feet and inches, there are a few possibilities that seem obvious: 1 - SH3D can use several measuring units: inches, centimeters, etc. Make sure your system is set to use inches. To change the measuring units in SH3D go to File --> Preferences. 2 - Sketchup uses feet, SH3D uses inches. - Solution 1: set Sketchup to use inches as well, because SH3D only uses inches. - Solution 2: when importing your model, multiply your dimensions by 12. ** 3 - Apart from feet/inches, other combinations are possible, depending on the measuring unit used when the model was designed. For centimer to inch, divide by 2.54, etcetera. ** 4 - If you have a lot of models to convert, you can use the library editor (tutorial PDF) which offers a few buttons to help this kind of conversion. ** During importing: In step 3 make sure that the checkbox for Keep proportions is checked. Now enter one correct dimension for your model. The other values will automatically scale up or down. This guarantees that there is no distortion in your model.
