importing 3d elements with textures

hello all ,
I tried to download some .obj and .dae elements to use in my Sh3d file but when I imported textures doesn't appear , these files are in folders or zip files containing textures , even elements I have made in sh3d and exported to obj doesn't show textures on other viewers . I searched for solution and I knew it is *.mtl file but I still don't know how to do it . please experts I need your help how to import obj or dae with textures

Re: importing 3d elements with textures

This is most likely caused due to a bad path on your images. You will need to verify with a text editor. First check path of .mtl file is correct in .obj file. Then confirm that image paths are correct in .mtl file. Look for something like...
map_Kd MyImage.png

If there is a long file path, you can try putting all the files in the same folder and editing the .obj and .mtl paths to just the file names. Also SweetHome3D really likes .png files as images. So if you are using any other image format try switching to .png files.

Re: importing 3d elements with textures

Sweet Home 3D supports only BMP, WBMP, GIF, PNG and JPG images. The texture images at an other format won't be used.
