Re: who would like to live in a houseboat?

Too sad! But congratulations for your new job... and for all these boats. Cheers!

Re: who would like to live in a houseboat?

I made some minor improvements on the LUXEMOTOR: a sunshade on the Flybridge, 2 arches on the wheelhouse and the mast on the bow. But... I'm not sure about the result... On one hand I like a small modern touch on my projects, some contrast to the every day look. But on the other hand I think I'm gonna destroy the retro look, especially with the arches on both sides of the wheelhouse.

What do you think about it?

I don't like the arches ( since you are asking).
I feel they are messing with the clean (and quite masculine) original design, and do not belong.
The sunshade is nice.

Thanks a lot! You confirm my feeling with it. And there is a fact to throw the arches away: the standing height below is less than 1.8m!

Re: who would like to live in a houseboat?

Fine fleet and renderings! My favorit is Minimoat, very sympathetic and inspirational.
Living in boat around the year is dream and even true for some people also in Finland.
Here are couple boats built by Jorma Ponkal and his wife Kirsti.
(just links to pictures an videos because I have no rights for them)

Aton, 8 m long and very light (about 1000 kg), built 2003

https://tekniikanmaailma.fi/aton-aurinkosahkovene-aikaansa-edella/

Next boat was Shalom, 15 m long, built during 8 year, launched 2013.
Here is video about boat and builder: video: https://www.facebook.com/yleperjantai/videos/...-shalom/1862567127329818/

Both stories and video are in Finnish, sorry..
But this might mean a lot of fun with Google translator or learning one more language.
If someone has interested some details, maybe I can find and translate them.

Happy boating and living anyway!

Seppo

Re: who would like to live in a houseboat?

Do you remember the NANOAT? It's the trailer for boats. And now, its also trailerable on land, but not on top of a trailer, it's the trailer itself.

I originally planned to design a trailer especially for this boat. But as it is inspired by the Sealander I decided to merge the boat with the trailer.

It is still a houseboat, but now it's a caravan too.

I have not quite finished the design yet. There should be a small deck on the drawbar and a foldable step. And I'm not sure about how to build the front support.

Anyway, we will see what the future holds...
