SweetHome3D error after installing nvidia graphic driver ubuntu 16.04

I cant open my SweetHOme3D after installing new graphic driver (nvidia 930mx) on my laptop. use ubuntu 16.04 64 bit. the error is

"Sweet Home 3D will exit now because a fatal error in the 3D rendering system of you computer"



any solution for my problem? please

I had a similar issue with OpenSUSE, I also have an Nvidia card and use the proprietary driver.

I changed the script that starts SweetHome3D so the exec line now includes:

-Dcom.eteks.sweethome3d.j3d.useOffScreen3DView=true

That got me going. I can't actually recall where I found this solution (it would either be via google or this forum).

I also just tried the SweetHome3D-Java3D-1_5_2 script and that appears to work too.
