how do I upgrade to 5.3 from 4.3

I have 4.3 installed using the package manager in Mint.

When I start the program it mentions there's an update (5.3) and a non-functioning link to get the new version.

Instead, I went to the website and downloaded the 5.3 version and extracted the .tgz to a folder ... There's no installation file there.

I don't know what to do with the files in the folder ... can someone please assist me with general instructions on the upgrade?

Thanks.

The Download page explains what to do.

Thank you.

My apologies for not seeing the instructions - I tunnel visioned to the download link and expected an executable or a readme.

Cheers.
