Requesting a New Plugin or Function
while designing, i wish if there were these three plugins or functions
1. flip the whole plan horizontally and vertically. 2. I should be able to put up a concrete slab with certain elevation and then after that elevation the floor should start. 3. a custom stair editor, like how many stairs and specify the dimensions and the stairs are there...like this we can make any kinda stair. 4. if possible a basic shapes spline editor for the dimensions of the wall, like if we need to cut a desired arc in the wall.. or anything..
i don't know if these are possible, but these things just came into my mine while using this great soft... iam not a professional architect, but this is my side business, and SH3D just made everything simple for me..

Re: Requesting a New Plugin or Function
1 - Go to the Documentation page, download the Plug-in tutorial and install the AdvancedEdit plug-in. 2 - Learn how to use Levels, reading the User's Guide and the Help provided in the program. 3 - This is not possible yet. You may use a different program like Sketchup... 4 - Learn how to use Doors and Windows. Models of every shape (including arches) can be imported and used as door/window, giving you cut-outs of a wall in any shape you like. Read the User's guide on how to do this.

Re: Requesting a New Plugin or Function
Thanx this was quit helpful actually, but i wasnt referring to levels i've used levels and its fine.. but my main concern is the elevation of the basement.. like if i want to elevate my baseplan 30 inches above the ground level.. then and to add small stairs. i hope u do understand wat iam trying to say.. but thanx for everything.. (Y) and i dont know how to use sketchup, sweethome 3d is waaaaayyyy easier then anything else i cud fine..and finally.. the flip thing, wat u told me ive alreayd explored it.. but i was asking abt FLIPPING the whole plan not rotating... like if i have 3 rooms on the left side of the plan and a big hall on the right , by flipping it the 3 rooms will come on the right side and the hall will go to the left side without changing the size or dimentions of the plan..

Re: Requesting a New Plugin or Function
1 - You can use the AdvancedEdit pkug-in to flip or mirror the house by using a value of -1. 2 - See attached file for a house with basement. 3 - Simple to use programs for simple tasks. Complex programs for complex tasks. If SH3D were as powerful as (say) Sketchup, it would be equally hard to learn...

Re: Requesting a New Plugin or Function
3 - Hmm, I agree with hansmex' message in that software needs to strike a balance between functions and complexity of the interface. That said, in case anyone wonders, I think I would say that Sketchup is different from SH3D, but not necessarily more powerful. In fact, I would say that SH3D is more powerful when it comes to most house construction tasks. And I originally did my own project both in Sketchup and SH3D to compare. SH3D is, imho, more powerful when it comes to do actual construction preparation. And it is certainly the SH3D plan that will be submitted to the building authorities (if I can save up enough). But of course, there are things you can do with Sketchup that you cannot do with SH3D, like designing an intricate chair. But then again, Blender can do even more than Sketchup.
So not really to disagree with your main point, but I think someone who read this and thought Sketchup is a more powerful house design software than SH3D, would be greatly disappointed.
