Rendering and Daylight Saving Time

Just checking how late the evening sun will reach the terrace. I was sort of assuming that photo rendering uses normal winter time and does not adjust for Daylight Saving Time. But to my surprise, it looks as if it does. If so, a cool level of accuracy that I did not expect. But does anyone know?

Re: Rendering and Daylight Saving Time

I remember I compared in Sweet Home 3D and in real life the sunlight coming from my kitchen window projected on walls and floor, and it looked correct. The Daylight Saving Time management is coming from Java itself and if it wasn't correct, I guess banks and many big companies wouldn't use this language for their programs. wink

Re: Rendering and Daylight Saving Time

Yes, it also compares well if you calculate the angle of the sun. Very cool. Good point, of course, the banks need the timing accuracy.

On the subject of angles, here is an idea for an (obscure) plugin: calculating the angle of given satellite dish based on SH3D compass info. Could make for an interesting school project smile.
