Landscaping

smile Sweet Home is a great program, albeit slightly hungry on graphics in 3D mode -- congratulations. For those having trouble in 3D mode - turn off a few 'furniture' items, they seem to overload the system.

I've got the house sorted but does anyone know of a similar program to design the 'Garden/Landscape'? My ideal (wish) would be something that took the External View from Sweet Home, and gave the ability to build a landscape around.

Re: Landscaping

Depends on how demanding your landscaping requirements are, but it is possible to add landscaping elements outside the house (ground level), add "rooms" to fill with grass and colour to simulate paths, flowerbeds etc. For fences you can use low, thin walls (or imported models). A pool can be a submerged room (lower level). And so on.

There are lots of garden models out there, but trees and shrubbery tends to suck up a lot of resources because of their complexity.

My challenge was a plot in a steep hill. But for that I needed to create a new level at the lowest point and create a simple 3d model with sloping terrain. An approximation is obviously possible with a stretched triangle (found on the Free Models Page).

While this may require some effort to look good, the advantage is having all elements, interior and exterior in one "home".

ok

Re: Landscaping

live, I prefer not to write any comment about missing features in the help, because it will become too complicate to update the text of the help the day I will add this feature (and worse when I have to update the translated helps).
