Re: Pan in aerial 3d view

Panning the 3D view isn't possible.
Rotating can be done by moving the mouse with the left button held down. Alternatively you can use the green arrows in the "windrose" in the top-left corner of the 3D window.
Zooming can be achieved by rolling the mouse wheel.

Please read also the FAQ Is it possible to manually set the rotation center of the 3D view in Aerial view mode?

Re: Pan in aerial 3d view

ok thanks. Real shame you cant move around the 3d view as its quite difficult to see small rooms without it. The virtual visit helps a little but its a bit awkward to use. Nevermind.

Thanks

There is an easy workaround using virtual visit. Just set the height of virtual viewer 10x of the normal. And you can see the house just like aereal view but you can also pan moving the viewer.

Re: Pan in aerial 3d view

That's a great work around but how does one set the height of the virtual viewer?

Re: Pan in aerial 3d view

Two ways to set the height of the virtual viewer:
1. double click virtual visitor icon and in opening window set 'Eyes elevation' value other than default (170 cm)
2. Use menu for that: 3D view - Modify virtual visitor...

When you handle very large objects, virtual visitor is often hard to find. In this case method 2 is always possible.

Tip: if you want to see if pillow is on top of bed (height 45 cm) or floating above it, go close and set Eyes elevation bit more than bed height (=>46 cm).
Then (if necessary) adjust pillow elevation for realistic value, for example 44.5 cm.

Re: Pan in aerial 3d view

Hi,

The way I pan is by adding walls to spaces outside of the floorplan I am drawing. This helps by shifting the 3D render to accomodate the new detail.
Not perfect but quick and easy. smile
