Change center-position in 3D aerial mode

I would like to see a way to change the x-y-z-position of center point in the 3D aerial mode.

I found the 3D aerial mode easy to view around. In my previous post I did aim the 3D aerial mode mouse movement. As well the central-position in 3D aerial mode would be grate to move due to work on details in a big entire environment.

Thanks for the great program and for listening smile

I found the 3D aerial mode easy to view around.
The key point is here, making it more complex would make it less easy to use. So (once again), I won't change it. Use Virtual visit mode instead.

Re: Change center-position in 3D aerial mode

I just added the new FAQ Is it possible to manually set the rotation center of the 3D view in Aerial view mode?
In the hope that this question won't come back so often in the forum...

Re: Change center-position in 3D aerial mode

I guess this issue will come back in the forum again and again, until you implement an option to choose the center position and a menu function to reset it to default position. As simple as that imo, but may be too difficult to implement ?
Let us know. Thank you Emmanuel.

Re: Change center-position in 3D aerial mode

Pierre, I agree 100%. Although I understand Emmanuel's point of view, it is neither intuitive nor effective to have the center forced to be in the middle of the bounding box of all created objects. But I will not give up hope for this feature next to be implemented :)

Re: Change center-position in 3D aerial mode

Thank you baurat. I'm still waiting for Emmanuel's answer...

I think that behind the debate of centering the scene or not, (which has a partial solution by adding objects on the edge), there is a bigger drawback that is the zoom limit.
As you build an environment around your house, it becomes impossible to zoom in and turn around your kitchen for exemple.
That is actually the biggest issue in my opinion.

Let's keep hope for an answer at least ! ;-)

I am kind of "happy" to see that someone has exactly the same problems and thoughts about this issue.

Well, this makes me unhappy again...

So for us, there's only the hope that maybe some day Emmanuel will change his mind. Until then, I will use SketchUp for 3D navigation and see what the house looks like from different views.

Re: Change center-position in 3D aerial mode

Why not using an elevated point of view in Virtual visitor mode?

Re: Change center-position in 3D aerial mode

The virtual visitor mode might be a very fine option for certain purpose and for several users. Nevertheless I do have try the Virtual visitor mode during the evaluation and usage of this nice program , Virtual visitor mode is not an alternative for my purpose and usage since it take comparable too much time to rotate the object, or you can say to change the viewpoint around the object while keep the view-direction in middle of the object. I keep use the aerial mode even but the drawback that you can not zoom close. My work around for this is I limit object in my garden to be close to the house. I did really try the Virtual visitor mode and read help about the Virtual visitor mode and it is really great for visitor purpose, but not really when work with the objects to quickly view around from all angles.
