Re: Weird 3D Artifacts

Just confirming that this is still an issue with latest Adrenaline driver (22.9.1) released yesterday (2022-09-21)

https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/rn-rad-win-22-9-1

Does anyone know the exact crux of the issue so that we can report it directly to AMD?

I reported this as a bug to AMD directly with their bug reporting tool. Instructions for doing so can be found here: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/amdbrt. I have linked to this thread for further reference along with uploading some relevant screenshots. Hopefully that helps them

Just updated to 22.9.2 (released today, 2022-09-27) and the issue persists. I will be reporting this bug to AMD again.

Re: Weird 3D Artifacts

Just happened to me too. I had no issues the other day and made no driver or windows update since (did install a new firewall). Only installed a few sweethome3d plugins the last time, but all worked just fine then.

The 3d view window is grey now when opening the program, with no model. Then loading a model gives those artifacts above, in both the 3d view and planview (objects are all black). And everything is a mess. Tried reinstalling and got the same issues.

AMD Radeon Vega 8 integrated graphics

Re: Weird 3D Artifacts

Could some of you try Sweet Home 3D executable jar with a recent version of Java 17:
- download Java 17 and install it
- download Sweet Home 3D executable jar
- open a cmd window and run the command:
java --add-opens=java.desktop/sun.awt=ALL-UNNAMED --add-opens=java.desktop/com.apple.eio=ALL-UNNAMED --add-opens=java.desktop/com.apple.eawt=ALL-UNNAMED -jar path\to\SweetHome3D-7.0.2.jar
(to get SweetHome3D-7.0.2.jar file path easily, drag-and-drop the file in the cmd window).
I wonder if it would run better, it could also worth to try the 32 bit version of Sweet Home 3D.

Re: Weird 3D Artifacts

I fixed it by reinstalling my radeon software, with a factory reset. Downgrading to the 22.5.1 version.

Re: Weird 3D Artifacts

Just ran into this problem as well... so I guess we have to wait for AMD to fix it? Shame.

Re: Weird 3D Artifacts

You’re not obliged to wait for AMD good will, just downgrade to version Adrenaline 22.5.1.
